Re-Indexed!

You may have heard about NSFW games on this platform being de-indexed in mass. With Reckless Abandon was swept up in that, making people unable to find it unless they already knew of the game (or were linked from elsewhere).

Yesterday, Leafo posted that NSFW games with payments disabled were being reindexed. I checked at the time, but WRA was still unavailable on site search.

Looking at the activity this morning, though, things are turning back up! Since being indexed I’m once again getting some traffic into the game from Itch itself, rather than my posts.

While this does make me happy in the short-term, I do still have concerns about Itch’s handling of the situation. As a result of the de-indexing, I decided to spend some time setting up my own store and get into talks with adult-focused payment processors.

Since Itch is seemingly allowing (free) erotic games to get views, I can use this place as a tertiary store presence to back up my own. I don’t expect to completely leave the platform, but my paid releases will find a home on my new store.
